Calmer, cooler weather in the offing

As the metro-east cleans up from early morning storms, skies will gradually clear Tuesday.

A 20 percent chance of isolated thunderstorms remains for the morning hours. But skies are expected to be mostly sunny when the high temperature will reach 86 degrees in the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

Skies are expected to be mostly clear overnight, when the low will drop to 64.

On Wednesday, skies will be sunny with a high of 84 and a light breeze out of the northwest. On Thursday sunny skies and a high of 85 are expected.
