An East St. Louis man has been sentenced to 10 months in prison after his conviction for embezzlement of public funds.

Kenneth Loving accepted more than $25,500 in unemployment benefits from the Illinois Department of Employment Security during a period when he had a job, according to U.S. Attorney Stephen Wigginton.

When he was sentenced Wednesday, Loving was ordered to pay $200 a month in restitution to the employment security department until he pays back all the money he took. He also must serve three years of supervised release after he gets out of prison.
