The O’Fallon Township High School Marching Panthers captured first place and the $5,000 top prize in this year’s Veiled Prophet Parade in St. Louis’ Forest Park on the Fourth of July.

OTHS was one of five bands from the metro-east to place in the 2014 Liberty Drum Challenge held during the annual parade.

Belleville East High School took second place with a $3,000 prize, Collinsville High School finished in fourth place with a $500 prize and Alton High School placed fifth winning a $500 prize.

The Winona, Minn., Cotter High School marching band won third place and received a $1,000 prize.

A total of 11 bands competed.
