Lawrence H. Slim Pollmann, 78, of Highland died Sunday, July 6, 2014, at Faith Countryside Homes in Highland.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on July 10 at Meridith Funeral Home in Highland and from 9 to 10 a.m. on July 11 at St. George Catholic Church in New Baden. A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on July 11 at St. George Catholic Church in New Baden. Burial will be in St. George Catholic Cemetery.
He was born on Nov. 6, 1935, in New Baden to Herman and Wilhelmina (Frerker) Pollmann. On May 30, 1983, he married Shirley Klein at Evangelical United Church of Christ in Highland. She survives in Highland.
Mr. Pollmann was a very intelligent man and an electronics wizard. He liked to build motorcycles, watch motorcycle racing, NASCAR, golf, and gardening. He was an animal lover, especially his pet dogs, Sarah and Daisy.
He is also survived by his children, Terry (special friend Angie Johnson) Pollmann, Pam (Roland) Richter and Kris (fiance Dawna Pruett) Pollmann; a step-son, Charlie Klein; grandchildren, Jacob (fiance Andrea Verdeyer) Richter, Megan (special friend Zach Quirin) Richter; a step-grandchild, Matthew Klein; a brother, Frank (Bernice) Pollmann; a sister, Rosemary Olliges; and many nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Curtis Pollmann.
Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice or Clinton County Humane Society.
