Father Dominic Garramone will make bread in Smithton

— Cookbook author and PBS-TV food show host Father Dominic Garramone will visit the metro-east July 31 to bake up some bread.

"A Summer's Evening with Father Dominic" will take place at 7 p.m. at the Smithton Senior Center. Sponsored by the Metro East Herb Club, "Father Dom," as known as the Bread Monk, will make Apricot Skillet Bread, Cheddar Chive Drop Biscuits, Inside Out Nacho Bread and Herb & Cheese Soda Bread.

Tickets are $12.50 and can be purchased from Herb Club members as well as at Rachel's Garden and Dintelmann's Nursery, both in Belleville. There are a limited amount of tickets, so get yours in advance.
