— State Rep. Mike Bost, R-Murphysboro, is scheduled to host a roundtable discussion for military veterans at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the O'Fallon Veterans of Foreign Wars, 223 W. First St.

The roundtable will emphasize funding for Scott Air Force Base, in Mascoutah, and the U.S. Veterans Affairs hospital in Marion, according to an announcement from Bost.

Joining Bost will be U.S. Rep. Doug Collins, R-Ga.

Bost, a longtime state representative, is seeking to defeat freshman incumbent U.S. Rep. Bill Enyart, D-Belleville, in the race for the 12th U.S. House Seat in November.
