Gateway Grizzlies outfielder Stephen Holdren is a huge University of Michigan fan.
"I even have University of Michigan wallpaper," said Holdren, who signed with the Wolverines out of high school but went the junior-college route when the interim coach at Michigan who recruited him was let go.
Holdren's older brother, Nate, played football and baseball at Michigan from 1990 to 1993. He started on special teams and was on the field during Desmond Howard's stirring punt return for a touchdown during the 1991 Michigan-Ohio State game.
Howard struck his famous Heisman pose after the touchdown.
"If they show that clip about a second longer, my brother is the guy who comes jumping in and knocks him down in the end zone," Holdren said. "He's wearing No. 4. That highlight brings chills to me."
Nate Holdren, a first baseman, was drafted by the Colorado Rockies and played in their farm system until 1998, advancing as high as Class AA.
"The guy in front of him in Class AAA was Todd Helton," Stephen Holdren said. "That worked out pretty well."
