Preps Insider blog: Former Hornets AD makes Hall of Fame

After a quarter-century run as the athletic director at Nashville High School, Don Hawkins was rewarded with induction into the Illinois Athletic Directors Hall of Fame. Hawkins was enshrined last Saturday in Tinley Park, but he did the bulk of his best work in his beloved Southern Illinois.

While running Nashville's successful athletic department, Hawkins also served on the Illinois High School Association's Finance an Ad Hoc committees, was a member and leader of the Illinois Coaches Association and the Southern Illinois Coaches Asociation and also served as chairman of the River-to-River Conference.

A longtime golf coach and enthusiast, Hawkins is now working at Stone Wolf Golf Course in Fairview Heights.

Congratulations for a well-deserved honor!!!
