BAGHDAD -- Two American pilots were killed in a helicopter crash in Iraq while a Marine died of noncombat related injuries in a separate incident, the U.S. military said Monday.
The two pilots were killed on Sunday when their helicopter went down in Salahuddin province north of Baghdad, the military said in a statement.
The Marine died Sunday of noncombat-related injuries in Anbar province, west of the Iraqi capital.
The military said in statements, released Monday, that both incidents are under investigation. The military provided no further details.
The names of the pilots and the Marine are being withheld until their family members can be notified.
The deaths raise to at least 4,362 the number of U.S. military personnel who have died in the Iraq war since it began in March 2003. That's according to an Associated Press count.
