Uno the beagle celebrated his third birthday Monday morning by meeting President and Laura Bush at the White House.
Uno, the champion beagle bred and born in Belleville, was top dog after he made history Tuesday night — becoming the first beagle to win Best in Show title at the 132nd Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in New York.
Uno got his day -- again. Lt. Gov. Pat Quinn declared Wednesday Uno the Beagle Day after severe weather canceled the declaration Tuesday.
It’s Uno’s day, take two.
Today is Uno’s day. The Belleville-born champion beagle is expected to meet with Illinois Lt. Gov. Pat Quinn this afternoon in Chicago, and today will be officially declared “Uno the Beagle Day,” in a ceremony with the lieutenant governor.
