Every dog has his day, but this one is Uno's

Today is Uno’s day.

The Belleville-born champion beagle is expected to meet with Illinois Lt. Gov. Pat Quinn this afternoon in Chicago, and today will be officially declared “Uno the Beagle Day,” in a ceremony with the lieutenant governor.

Last weekend, at the dog show in Belleville, the month was declared the month of Uno by Illinois State Rep. Tom Holbrook.

Uno earned celebrity status last month when he became the first beagle to win the Best in Show title at the Westminster dog show in New York.
