Police located Tuesday a 30-year-old registered sex offender from Alton who they say violated his parole this past weekend by leaving his registered address without notice.

Deputy U.S. Marshals, the Illinois Department of Corrections and Granite City police officers arrested Adam D. "Honkey" Brown at a house in the 2100 block Delmar Avenue of Granite City.

"He was found hiding in the basement of the Granite City residence and was arrested without incident," U.S. Marshal Don Slazinik stated in a news release. "Four other persons at the residence were also arrested for various offenses."

Deputy U.S. marshals have searched since Saturday for Brown, who police considered armed and dangerous, after he removed his GPS monitor and left his registered address without notification.

Brown was convicted of repeatedly sexually abusing a 15-year-old runaway from Collinsville for a month in 2005, using methamphetamine and other drugs to intoxicate the girl.
