Hayden Smith, M.D., was recently announced as the medical director of the emergency department (ED) at St. Joseph’s Hospital (SJH) in Highland. A 2006 graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Medicine, Dr. Smith focused his studies in both Family Practice and Exercise/Sport Science. He has written for many publications dealing with fitness and exercise as well as case studies on various medical conditions.
Highland’s Relay for Life activities kicked off with a huge birthday party and celebration Saturday at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Highland. The kickoff followed this year’s Relay theme “Celebrating More Birthdays.” More than 200 from the community attended as sponsors, cancer survivors, committee members, teams, volunteers and others joined together for the festivities.
