Seniors power Maroons’ seventh-inning comeback

Three Belleville West seniors went into the seventh inning at O’Fallon down by a pair of runs, but with plenty to play for — namely, the shot at the class 4A regional championship four years of high school softball had yet to provide them.

Belleville West junior Aleigha Corey drove home senior Kiri Evans with the tying run with two outs in the seventh inning of the O'Fallon Class 4A Regional Tournament. The Maroons scored five in the inning to defeat the host Panthers and advance to the regional championship game.
