Brombolich files suit over expenditure documents; says city manager targeted her

City Councilwoman Cheryl Brombolich who, city documents show, routinely used city credit cards and tax-free accounts for her personal use as a municipal employee has filed a federal lawsuit against Collinsville, as well as former City Manager Scott Williams and former City Councilman Mike Tognarelli, who she says compiled and distributed those documents to make her look bad.

Tinkering with Belleville Township

The five-year process to kill an unneeded layer of government will now be studied by a committee of 12. If eliminating Belleville Township was a no-brainer, imagine the task of taking out or consolidating more of Illinois’ 6,986 local units of government.
