closeEAST ST. LOUIS -- Police on Sunday arrested a man in St. Louis that they believe is responsible for killing three women in East St. Louis.
Illinois State Police on Sunday night announced an arrest in the triple homicide but provided no details about the suspect.
Police are still seeking the white, four-door, 1993 Mercury Grand Marquis, with Illinois registration X101862, that the suspect drove away from the murders at 9:30 p.m. Saturday. They asked anyone who spots the vehicle to call 911.
Police are looking for the vehicle they believe a triple homicide suspect drove from the scene about 9:30 p.m. Saturday in East St. Louis.
Canikia Harvey, 26, Raykel Gathing, 26, and Jaimaca McDaniel, 24, all of East St. Louis, were shot while sitting with two children in a Dodge Caliber parked at the Food Mart at the intersection of Collinsville Avenue and Dr. Martin Luther King Drive. Police arrested one person Saturday night in connection with the three murders.
Police are also asking anyone with information about the murders to call East St. Louis police at 274-6868, State Police at 346-3766 or Crime Stoppers at 866-371-TIPS (8477).
