Three additional H1N1 vaccination clinics have been announced, after 350 metro-east residents were vaccinated last week in East St. Louis.
The vaccination clinics will be:
* 2 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Fairmont City Community Center, 2600 N. 41st St.;
* 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the East Side Health District, 638 N. 20th St.;
* 2 to 6 p.m. Nov. 19 at the East Side Health District, 638 N. 20th St.
The vaccination is available for those who meet the high-risk criteria for H1N1, commonly referred to as the swine flu, defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The criteria includes:
* People who live with or provide routine care for infants younger than 6 months of age (parents, siblings, and day care providers)
* Health care and emergency medical services personnel
* People 6 months through 24 years of age
* Pregnant women (will be referred to their private physicians for vaccination)
* People 25 years through 64 years of age who have certain medical conditions that put them at higher risk for influenza-related complications
Vaccinations are scheduled to begin Tuesday at schools in the East St. Louis School District 189.
Community forums about H1N1 and the vaccinations will be held Nov. 16 at Washington Park Senior Citizens Center, 5300 N. Park Drive, and Nov. 21 at the Clyde C. Jordan Senior Citizen Center, 6755 State St. in East St. Louis.
