A Belleville teen who made it to the second round of "Jeopardy! Teen Tournament" will not advance to the final round.

Gabe Orlet, 17, a senior at Althoff Catholic High School, was first featured in an episode that aired Friday.

Orlet said he was winning until he incorrectly answered the final question, which was to name the only three-word U.S. state capital, Salt Lake City.

Nonetheless, Orlet advanced to the second round -- in an episode aired Wednesday -- as a wildcard because of his high score. Each of the eight semifinalists are awarded $10,000.

"I started out kind of slow because the winner ended up being really fast on the buzzer," Orlet said. "I bid almost everything. I got the question right, but I didn't bid quite enough to win."

Orlet knew it was the Korean peninsula that was divided into north and south at the 38th parallel after World War II.
