Illinois State Police and the Caseyville Police Department are investigating the killing of an East Alton man on Friday.
Edrow R. Perkins, 36, was found about 7 a.m. Friday, Illinois State Police Lt. Jim Morrisey said. Caseyville police received a call requesting a well-being check, and called Illinois State Police deputies to assist after finding the body.
Perkins was found shot to death in his four-door 2002 Chrysler, which was parked in the 100 block of Santa Barbara Lane in Caseyville. The car was parked on the side of the road, in a sparse residential area.
"We don't know if it happened somewhere else, if he was driven there," Morrisey said. "We have not been able to find any connection between him and Caseyville. Nobody in that area knew him."
Morrisey said police do not have any suspects and he declined to comment on a motive.
Police spent Friday contacting Perkins' family. An autopsy was conducted Friday afternoon.
Anyone with information concerning Perkins' homicide is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 866-371-8477 or Illinois State Police at 346-3765.
