A man who hit a parked car in the MetroLink station parking lot at Fifth Street and Missouri in East St. Louis was arrested and charged with aggravated driving under the influence, a felony.
Robert E. Zdroj, 57, of 119 S. 9th St. in East Carondelet, was witnessed by St. Clair County Sheriff's Deputy Brian Lammers hitting a parked vehicle about 10:41 p.m. Thursday. Zdroj did not stop and left the scene of the accident in his vehicle, followed by Lammers.
Lammers and St. Clair County Sheriff's Capt. Steve Johnson were able to stop Zdroj on Fourth Street near Broadway and conducted field sobriety tests, according to the police report.
Zdroj was arrested for driving with a revoked driver's license and driving without insurance. He was later charged with aggravated driving under the influence.
A judge set Zdroj's bail at $25,000. Zdroj posted bond and was released from the St. Clair County Jail Monday.
