Police have identified one suspect and are searching for another in connection with a residential burglary last week in Belleville.
Tonnie M. Mosley, 18, of 1805 W. A St. in Belleville, was charged with residential burglary. His bail was set at $150,000, according to Belleville Police Capt. Don Sax.
About 12:30 p.m. June 29, a man reported that two men opened his unlocked door, beat him and then stole his safe. The victim learned where the suspects may have taken the safe, so he went to retrieve it and then called police, according to a news release.
Mosley was later identified as a suspect and arrested. He remains in the St. Clair County Jail.
Police continue to search for information to identify the second suspect.
