The Belleville Philharmonic Orchestra will put the three young winners of its annual concerto competition in the spotlight when it opens its 143rd season with a concert on Friday.
The Stars of Tomorrow Concert is 7:30 p.m. Friday at Union United Methodist Church, 721 E. Main St. in Belleville.
It will feature violinists John Li, 10, and Erica Westenberg, 16; and pianist Marisa McKeegan, 14.
The orchestra, under the direction of Robert Charles Howard, will perform Johann Strauss II's always-popular "Emperor Waltz" and Alexander Borodin's Symphony No. 2.
Tickets are $15 adult, $12 senior, $7 student or season ticket ($30, $50 and $60). Advance tickets available at Aunt Mary's Parlor or through 972-4189.
