Three charged in Belleville West Discount Cigarettes robbery

Three people were charged Wednesday, and a juvenile is being held pending formal charges, in connection with a robbery at Belleville West Discount Cigarettes.

Christopher A. Allmon, 19, of 5001 W. Main St. in Belleville, Darryl C. Cox, 22, of 6401 Church Road in Centreville and Rachel A. Click, 24, a homeless woman with P.O. Box 1072 in Collinsville, were each charged with felony robbery, Belleville Police Capt. Don Sax stated in a news release.

The three adults are being held at the St. Clair County Jail in lieu of $500,000 bail.

"The juvenile will be handled in the juvenile court system and no adidtional information can be released on him," Sax stated.

The Belleville Police Department got a call at 12:12 p.m. Monday about the robbery at 6007 W. Main St.

The men entered the store through the back door while the clerk on duty was with a customer, according to the news release. The men beat the clerk and left the store with an undetermined amount of merchandise.

The clerk was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
