A boil order is effective tonight for SLM Water Commission customers who live north of Interstate 64, including residents from New Baden and Trenton.

The order is effective 10 p.m. Monday for New Baden residents and 9 a.m. Tuesday for Trenton residents until further notice.

The water main break was fixed Monday night, and SLM will notify customers when the precautionary water boil order is lifted.

Water used for cooking or consumption should be boiled for three minutes before using while the boil order is in effect.

For more information on the New Baden boil order, call the village hall at 588-3813 or visit www.newbadenil.com.

For more information on the Trenton boil order, call the City Hall at 224-7323.
