An East St. Louis man was charged Monday after the suspected DUI driver fled from Caseyville police and crashed into a parked car.
Police are looking for a male passenger that ran off after the car crashed.
Lorenzo Williams Jr., 19, of 2907 Converse Ave., was charged with two counts of felony aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer and misdemeanor driving under the influence of alcohol.
A Caseyville police officer spotted Williams' car at 11:35 p.m. Sunday swerving and driving against traffic on 81st Street, according to the police report.
The officer signaled to Williams to stop, but the car accelerated and drove through several stop signs. The pursuit ended at 58th Street in Washington Park, where the car crashed into another car parked in a yard.
Police arrested the driver at 12:25 a.m. Monday. A male passenger ran away. Anyone with information on the passenger in Williams' car is asked to call Caseyville Detective Scott Miller at 344-2151.
Williams took a Breathalyzer test that showed an blood-alcohol concentration of 0.12. The a blood-alcohol concentration of .08 or over is a violation.
Police searched the car and found four AK-47 used shell casings that have been sent to the Illinois State Police crime lab to determine whether they are linked to other cases.
Williams is being held in the St. Clair County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bail.
