As 11 contestants eagerly awaited to see who would be crowned this year’s Miss Madison County Fair Queen, they held hands — their grasp made strong by anticipation. And it’s a good thing.

With a congregation of 575 in a village of about 640, Salem United Church of Christ in Alhambra is an integral part of its community, not only as a sanctuary for people to practice their faith, but as a place where generations have gathered to share their sorrow, their joy and their love.

Two new physicians have joined the medical staff at Greenville Regional Hospital — Dr. Christina Dothager, an OB-GYN specialist, and Dr. Kelsey Hopkins, a family medicine physician.
