BEATY MEMORIAL: The first Beaty Memorial Run/Walk/Ride will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Horner Park in Lebanon.
A flag raising ceremony opens events at 8:45 a.m. The race begins at 9 a.m. for walkers and ride courses and at 10:15 a.m. for runners.
There will be music by Shaky Dave along with food, drinks and games after the races. A silent auction is also planned.
The event honors the memory of Karen and Bobby Beaty. Beaty and her 11-year-old son, Bobby, were murdered in Alabama in April 2009.

CHURCH WALK: Church Walk, an interfaith, six-week summertime program, is underway. The program features six churches or community outreach organizations hosting the event. Participants meet in the parking lot of the church and are led on a mile round-trip walk about the neighborhood.
After the walk, participants meet in the church sanctuary to listen to a brief oral history of the church, followed by a tour of the facilities.
This year, walkers will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at Home & Community Care/Faith in Action at 222 Goethe Ave., Collinsville.
Other walks will be June 15 at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 901 S. Main, Caseyville; June 22 at First Assembly of God, 1105 Belt Line Road, Collinsville; June 29, St. John Evangelical United Church of Christ, 307 W. Clay, Collinsville; July 6 at St. John Lutheran Church, 7201 W. Main, Maryville; and July 13 at Overflow Worship, 2002 Mall St., Collinsville.

PRINCE & PRINCESS: The Prince and Princess contest, sponsored by the O'Fallon Woman's Club, in conjunction with the Miss O'Fallon Scholarship pageant, will be July 24.
The contest is open to boys and girls who are 4, 5 or 6 years old before April 30, 2009. The child must live within O'Fallon Township School District 203 and not previously served as an O'Fallon Prince or Princess.
Each contestant is required to sell tickets for the Hope Chest, which will be given away July 25 at Curtain Call II. The boy and girl who sell the most tickets will be crowned O'Fallon Prince and Princess at the Miss O'Fallon Scholarship pageant. Winners will each receive a 16-inch bicycle and each contestant will be given gift certificates to Centerfield Park.
Proceeds from the sale of tickets go to the Children's section of the O'Fallon Public Library.

POKER RUN: The first Morgan Westerman Memorial Poker Run will be June 13 in Paderborn to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

JUNIOR IDOL: The Greater Belleville Chamber of Commerce will host auditions for the annual Junior Idol competition from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Greater Belleville Chamber of Commerce, 216 E. A St., Belleville. There is a non-refundable $10 fee.
