ACTORS WANTED: The Itty Bitty Touring Company is seeking actors of all ages for its holiday tour of "Hansel & Gretel and the Ginger Witch."
They will perform the play at area senior apartment communities, nursing homes and community centers during the latter part of November and early December.

SCAVENGER HUNT: A downtown Belleville scavenger hunt to benefit Relais Bonne Eau, the community Hospice home in Edwardsville, will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sept. 12.
Registration is from 2 to 3 p.m. Food will be served at 5 p.m. by Hicks BBQ Company and entertainment is provided fro 5 to 8 p.m.
The cost is $25 for ages 12 and older, $10 for ages 5 to 11; 4 and younger are free.
The cost includes a T-shirt, dinner and attendance prizes. Teams can consist of up to eight members.

D.A.R.E. RIDE: The Trenton Police Department will host its annual "D.A.R.E. to Ride to the Lake!" on Sept. 12.
Registration begins at 7 a.m. Riders will have five routes to choose from to Sportsman's Lake and back or Carlyle Lake and back.
All routes are marked and have food and water stops along the way. SAG support is supplied by the Cyclery of Edwardsville.
Proceeds from the ride support the Trenton D.A.R.E. program and a college scholarship program that was started to help youth continue their education.
The cost is $15 in advance or $20 the day of the ride.

DANCE CLASSES: The Personal Enrichment Department of Lewis and Clark Community College is sponsoring Ballroom, Latin and Imperial Swing dance classes for teens and adults.

DANCE CLINIC: The Edwardsville High School varsity and JV dance teams will host their annual dance clinic from 9:30 a.m. to noon Sept. 12 at Liberty Middle School, Edwardsville.

KIWANIS CLUB: The Collinsville Sunrise Kiwanis Club will meet at 9 a.m. Sept. 11 in front of City Hall at the flag pole for a "Freedom Walk."
The walk is held in honor of first responders. At 9:11 a.m., the group will be at the flag pole at Webster School in Collinsville to listen to music from the students and to recite the Pledge of Allegiance.
The group will then proceed west on Church Street, north of Seminar and then east on Main Street, concluding at The Oatman House Tea Room.

TREKKERS SERIES: The Illinois Trekkers final walk in their summer series will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville.
