What qualifies you for this position?
“I have served on the Mascoutah City Council for seven and a half years and belong to many civic organizations i.e., Mascoutah Improvement Association, Mascoutah American Legion, Mascoutah Rotary Club, Air Force Association, Mascoutah Chamber of Commerce and St. John UCC. Over the past years, I have been working to make our city a great place to live and raise a family. We have improved streets, replaced water lines, upgraded sewer lines, started new sub developments, improvements to our park system has enhanced our quality of life, new businesses have come to town and the out look for our future is good. I think we are going in the right direction and would like to continue serving the citizens of Mascoutah for another four years.”
What is the top issue in your race, and how would you address it?
“The biggest problem facing our city is property taxes. We are due to lose $375,000 in tax revenue from the state this year. Over the last four years, we have not increased the cities percentage of property taxes for our citizens. Great care has been taken to balance our budget and keep spending down while providing great service to our citizens. I would continue this effort and keep our city going forward.”
