What qualifies you for this position?
“I have extensive military and business experience in planning, budgeting, operations, scheduling and problem solving. My experience will enable me to be more responsible to how the taxpayers money is being appropriated and spent. Granite City has made a number of hasty decisions that have cost the taxpayers money.”
What is the top issue in your race, and how would you address it?
“The two biggest in this race are leadership and taxes. The city council lacks leadership. Too often the solution to any financial issue is increased taxes and/or user fees. A popular excuse is ‘we don’t have the money.’ The city has sufficient money, it is all in how it is budgeted and spent. Unless and until the taxpayers demand the council aggressively address workforce structure, pay, benefits, and staffing with long-term solutions the taxpayers can expect and count on ever increasing taxes. I will introduce proposals that address each area and offer sound solutions for the taxpayers consideration.”
