Rhurbarb Dessert gets sweet with topping

If you enjoy rhubarb, here is a homemade treat from Fran Stempel of New Baden.

Rhubarb Dessert

Batter:

11/2 cup biscuit mix

2 cups melted butter

3 tablespoons sugar

2/3 cup milk

Filling:

5 cups cut-up rhubarb

1 large box strawberry gelatin

Topping:

11/2 cups sugar

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 cup butter

3/4 cup flour

Preheat oven to 350 degrees ((325 degrees for a glass pan). Grease or spray a 9-by-13-inch pan.

Batter: Mix and put in pan.

Filling: Cover batter with rhubarb, then sprinkle dry gelatin over rhubarb.

Topping: Sprinkle on top of rhubarb. Bake 45 to 55 minutes.
