Old Salt Union, a Belleville-based bluegrass band, will present a concert with six bands Saturday to raise money for a new touring vehicle. The concert will run from noon to midnight at Crossfit Nucleus, 350 Fullerton Road in Swansea.
There will be food catered by the Righteous Pig of Belleville, beer, a silent auction, and a 50/50 raffle. Regional bands Earthsol, Rat Rod Kings, The River Kittens, Tim Ryan and Sully are on the bill and there will be two sets from Old Salt Union.
Old Salt Union performs about 200 shows a year across the country.
“From the East coast to the West coast people have taken to our music,” said singer and guitarist Dustin Eiskant. “There is nothing like taking in a live performance — there is certain type of energy.” The band performed at the Stage Coach Music Festival in Indio, Calif., in April, and more recently at the FreshGrass Festival in North Adams, Mass., where they won the “Best New Band” award.
The money from the fundraiser show will go to help defray the costs of a recreational vehicle the band use for their extensive touring. For more information, visit www.oldsaltunion.com or their Facebook page.
