Perhaps this is an innovative product — I’m still deciding. I spotted boxes of Stomp Stone while I was in At Home (formerly Garden Ridge) in O’Fallon. The lightweight faux square stones are advertised as a fast and easy way to create a path through your yard, edge garden beds or create an instant patio. The 12-inch square pavers resemble flagstone and have a textured, nonslip surface. Set them in place, step on them and the sharp beveled edge underneath cuts into grass, gravel, sand or soil, creating a stable place to step. Made from up to 98 percent recycled rubber tires, Stomp Stones come in a box of four for $19.99. See a video at http://stompstone.com/stomp-stone-video.
Want to perk up a gift for Mom? Schnucks in Swansea (check other locations) has some very colorful big fabric butterflies that can be clipped onto the ribbon on a present or on a plant. Each is $8.50.
Why not turn your favorite pooch into a hip hound this summer? Earthbound Trading Co. at St. Clair Square has tie-dye, waffle-textured tank tops for dogs made by ColdWoof! They’re all-cotton, leash friendly and come in a couple sizes for $15.
Never miss a local story.
Got any fans of Marvel Comics who can’t wait for the opening Friday of “Captain America: Civil War”? At Pub Decor on the upper level near Macy’s, 3-D, 8-by-10 shadow boxes of Captain America and other super characters are $14.97.
Other news at the mall
Kiddo’s has relocated to next to Build A Bear on the upper level. If your little girl likes ribbons in her hair, the fun assortment of bottlecap bows with monogrammed letters will make her happy. Each is $6.99.
J.C.’s Jewelry & Repair, across from Starbucks and JC Penney, closed April 30, but is expected to open soon at a larger location in the O’Fallon/Shiloh area. According to its Facebook page, it had to leave the mall location sooner than its new location could be ready, so there’s a bit of gap in service. If you need information, call 618-624-3900 or check out the Facebook page for updates.
