Q. At the end of Tim Russert's funeral, someone played "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" with ukelele music. Can you find out who the singer was and where I can find a copy of the recording?

Q. What will happen to those millions of sandbags after the flooding subsides? Couldn't they be stored for future use instead of having to make new ones each time? Maybe you could have a central storage place from where people could "check out" bags when they needed them."

Q. I recently read an article in which the writer claims to have seen a photo of people walking and driving horse-drawn buggies between East St. Louis and St. Louis without the benefit of a bridge. I am 81 years old, and I find that hard to believe. If the water was low enough, I believe the river may have frozen enough to allow people to walk across, but I feel the ice would have jammed up so that it would have been impossible to have driven a horse-drawn wagon across. I have heard these stories for years even from my grandfather. Can you either prove or disprove this story?

Q. I purchased an oven liner that was Teflon-coated fiberglass. It sat on the floor of the oven and caught food spills. Then the liner could be removed, cleaned and replaced. Unfortunately, I forgot that the liner was in the oven, saw some spills and then used the oven cleaning cycle on my range. When I opened the oven door the next day, there were pieces of ash-colored fabric on the oven floor and gray ash covering the oven door and window.

Q. OK, don't leave us in suspense. In your Thursday story about former Highland High School pitcher Dean Burk, you said he was drafted fifth overall in 1966 by the Chicago Cubs, which means that Yankee slugger Reggie Jackson was drafted only second by Kansas City. Who went first that year?

Q. Many years ago, my wife and I attended an exhibition by fast-pitch softball wizard Eddie Feigner, better known as The King & His Court. His team consisted of a pitcher, a shortstop, a first baseman and a catcher. I also remember seeing this team on TV during a celebrity game with movie stars and former major leaguers. I remember Willie Mays nearly jumping out of his cleats on Feigner's first pitch. I mean, this guy could pitch blindfolded from second base. Is there any tape or DVD of this remarkable athlete?

Q, What has happened to the Harrison Jumbo steam engine purchased from the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Mich., several years ago by the Belleville Labor and Industry Museum? I have heard that this engine was severely damaged when it was dropped off a high trailer and the boiler was cracked.

Q. My dad worked at Illinois Power Co. for more than 40 years and always wore OshKosh work pants. He is now retired but still loves his OshKosh. The problem is they are all wearing out and I have tried to find them for several years now with no luck. It would make my dad extremely happy to put on a new pair of these pants.

Q. When your paper listed the area's worst earthquakes on April 19, you left out one in November 1939. I suppose it was too small to list, but can you tell me what was the size of it? I was a child in East St. Louis and my husband was in church in Prairie du Rocher, but we remember it.

Q. In an answer two years ago (which I saved), you made passing reference to an actress named Rosalind (Culli) Keith from the Belleville-Mascoutah area. One summer when I was small (8 or 10), she and her mother and another lady came to visit our family. I remember my mother saying she was a movie star.

Q. Recently, I was doing a Wonderword puzzle about the Winchester House in San Jose, Calif. The introduction said the house has 52 skylights, 47 fireplaces, 40 staircases, 467 doorways and 13 bathrooms. After finding all the clues, I was left with the phrase "Number of windows." But it doesn't say how many windows there are. Do you know?
