Belleville police investigate purse snatching

Belleville police are investigating a report of a purse snatching on Monday night.
A 44-year-old woman was getting out of her car in the 100 block of North 27th Street when a man approached her and grabbed her purse, Assistant Police Chief Roger Barfield said.
The suspect was unable to wrest the purse from the woman, so he ordered her to hand it over, Barfield said.
The woman complied.
The suspect is described as a black male in his 30s, 6-feet tall, 160 pounds, wearing a dark shirt, dark jacket and dark skull cap.
