BROOKLYN -- A shootout at a strip club early Saturday littered the parking lot with shell casings, sent one man to the hospital, put five in jail and led the shooter to flee.

Police Chief Delbert Marion said police are looking for the suspect who shot a man at the Bottoms Up Nightclub at 307 Jefferson Ave. The suspect and victim were involved in a shootout on the club's parking lot. Police were called at 3:40 a.m. Saturday.

The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment. No condition was immediately available.

Police recovered three weapons and arrested five suspects from Illinois and Missouri.

"We currently do not have a motive we can put our hands on," Marion said.

Marion closed the club pending a village hearing on the club's liquor license.

Police collected at least 30 spent shells from 9mm and .45-caliber ammunition.
