Firefighters rescued a dog from a house fire just before 7 p.m. Monday night in the 5400 block of Rosemont Avenue.
According to Chief Charles Schreiber, the fire started in the home’s living room. The dog, which appeared to be a young puppy, was found in a crate located in the back bedroom of the house.
“No one else (was) in the house,” he said. “Apparently, the neighbors said (the residents) left about half an hour ago.”
No one was injured, Schreiber said.

“The cause — at this time — is still under investigation,” Schreiber said.
