Fairview Heights Fire Chief Bryan Doyle says a company was putting in fiberlines across the back of the Walgreens next to Boston Market in Fairview Heights when they hit a gas line, prompting an evacuation of the surrounding businesses. Ameren was contacted, and gas and electric was shut off while crews worked to repair the leak.
On Saturday, Aug. 12, Shiloh police responded to Yorktown Golf Course for the overnight theft of multiple golf carts. This was the fourth time golf carts have been stolen this year from Yorktown. The Village of Shiloh is offering a $1,000 reward for the first source that provides information leading to the arrest of the suspects. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Shiloh Police Department.

Swansea Police released this surveillance video of golf cart thieves who drive past a homeowner's trailer, try to take it and fled when the homeowner came out. One of the thieves fled on foot and left a cart behind. They came back two minutes later to retrieve the fourth cart.
