Police ID O’Fallon woman killed, man critically injured when motorcycle hits deer, is struck by SUV
An O’Fallon woman died and a man was critically injured Sunday evening when their motorcycle hit a deer and then was struck by a car in Winona, Minnesota, according to state police.
The 55-year-old O’Fallon man, Bradley Titze, was riding a Harley Davidson with 57-year-old Amanda Titze on the back of the bike headed north on Highway 61 in the left lane when they struck a deer which had reportedly walked onto the road from the north side.
A police report said the pair’s Harley Davidson crossed over the center of the road and was struck by Matthew John Broghammer, who was driving south in a Ford Edge SUV.
Amanda Titze was dead when emergency responders arrived, according to Sgt. Troy Christianson with the Minnesota State Police. Bradley Titze was taken to a hospital in critical condition. An update by police at noon on Monday listed him as having suffered life threatening injuries.
Broghammer was not injured.
Note: Initial reports indicated incorrectly that both had died in the accident.
