Editor’s note: An earlier version of this story incorrectly reported that a man had died.
An 18-year-old man who fell off a cliff at Garden of the Gods where he went to watch the total solar eclipse Aug. 21 suffered only minor injuries and was safe at home Monday, according to the Saline County Sheriff’s Department.
The Indiana man fell about 10-15 feet, but Lt. Tracey Feltey confirmed he was doing well when he reached the man at his home Monday morning.
Feltey also reported that there was a 64-year-old man who overheated at the Garden on the day of the eclipse, but he refused ambulance treatment and drove away.
Never miss a local story.
Feltey also corrected reports of a third man who reportedly fell at the park and later died from his injuries. Harrisburg resident Claude McMillan, 69, was not at the Garden of the Gods for the eclipse, but he died from complications of falling at home on that day, Feltey said.
