Last year the O’Fallon Woman’s Club raised $11,000 for the O’Fallon Food Pantry. Beth Lundy, the club’s president, said she hopes they break that record with the eighth annual Empty Bowl Luncheon held Wednesday, Feb. 14 at Gateway Classic Cars in O’Fallon.
Illinois’ education leaders want to make changes to the state test for students in third through eighth grades, including its format. Jim Rosborg, a former Belleville District 118 superintendent, would like to see the state rethink the minimum scores that students need to be considered proficient in English and math, which he thinks are currently too high for them to reach.
O’Fallon Township High School’s 12th annual Mr. Irresistible male talent and scholarship pageant allowed senior Andrew Smith to showcase his knack for celebrity impressions, which led to him being crowned on Saturday, Jan. 20.
Covered in Chocolate Bistro and Catering recently moved from Carlyle to 541 N. 3rd St. in Breese. Owner Jamie Kohrmann runs daily operations at the bistro, while her sister, Hollie Sensel, does all the specialty cakes and decorating.
