Goodwill has discovered a possible accidental donation of $6,200 in cash at its Florissant Square location, 472 N. Lindbergh, Florissant, Missouri.
The cash was found while processing donated items Sunday, Aug. 27. Goodwill believes the money was donated unknowingly Friday, Aug. 25, at the Bridgeton Mills Outlet location, 5665 St. Louis Mills Blvd., and is asking the donor to come forward.
“As we’ve been down this road before, accidental donations happen at times in our locations, and we always want to do right by our donors and either thank them or right a possible accidental drop off,” said David Kutchback, president and CEO of Mers Goodwill, in a press release.
Kutchback expressed hope that the donor would be located soon.
To claim responsibility for the cash donation, accidental or not, the donor should call Goodwill at 314-982-8802. After 30 days, the money found will go to Goodwill programs to help people in the community.
Goodwill reminds its donors to look in all pockets, bags, envelopes and small boxes — just in case.
