Toddler found dead in car in south St. Louis

A toddler was found dead in a car in south St. Louis on Monday evening, police say.

Police were called to 610 Kinswood Lane, at the Casa Dia Montessori school, for a report of a unresponsive, not breathing child. They found a 1-year-old boy, who had possibly been left in a car for an extended amount of time, according to a news release.

Medics attempted to save the boy as he was taken to the hospital, but he was pronounced dead once there.

The St. Louis County Police Department Bureau of Crimes Against Persons is investigating the case, which is “very active,” according to a news release.

The boy’s autopsy will be Tuesday. His identity has not yet been released to the public.
