Twitter is expanding to allowing character counts of up to 280 characters — but only to some users to start.
“This is a small change, but a big move for us,” said Jack Dorsey, the company’s chief executive officer. Dorsey is among the supersized users. Users quickly responded, with some offering to edit the CEO’s tweet.
As of Wednesday morning, one of the platform’s frequent users, @realDonaldTrump, still seemed to be under the 140-character limit.
