Bomb threats prompted the closing of two Southern Illinois courthouses on Wednesday, the Southern Illinoisan newspaper reported.
The Williamson County courthouse was closed until 1:15 p.m. Wednesday. The courthouse in Marion was closed and evacuated Wednesday morning after police took a call of a bomb threat.
A threat also prompted the evacuation and closing of the Franklin County courthouse in Benton.

A call came into the West Frankfort Police Department on Wednesday at about 8:45 a.m. The caller warned of an “improvised explosive device on the second floor of the courthouse.”
The West Frankfort police alerted the Williamson County Sheriff’s Department, which evacuated the Marion building.
