1 seriously hurt in I-70 crash near Highland

A pick-up truck towing lumber crashed on Interstate 70 near Highland Saturday afternoon, seriously injuring at least one person, according to television reports.

Illinois State Police were investigating the crash.

The name of the victim was not available Saturday night.

KMOV Channel 4 reported the crash occurred in the westbound lanes just west of the Illinois 160 interchange.

The I-70 westbound lanes were shut down for a short time to allow a helicopter to land and take the victim to a hospital.
