Thunderstorms a threat over weekend

A 50 percent chance of showers or thunderstorms is forecast for the metro-east Friday.

The high temperature will be 85 under mostly cloudy skies during the daytime hours. In the evening the chance of rain will decrease to 30 percent with a low of 66.

There is a 30 percent chance of rain on Saturday with the best chance of rain coming after 1 p.m. The high is expected to be 85.

On Sunday the chance of rain is pegged at 40 percent, again with the mostly likely chance of rain coming after 1 p.m. and the high temperature remaining steady at 85.

The extended forecast calls for a 40 percent change of rain every day through next Thursday, with highs in the mid to upper 80s.
