St. Clair County Board members Nick Miller, R-Lebanon, and Frank Heiligenstein, D-Freeburg, are co-hosting a Town Hall meeting from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, June 16 at the Lebanon High School gym, 200 W. Schuetz St.
The meeting will update the public on county government and provide an opportunity to ask questions about issues.
"One of the promises I made when I ran for office was to hold open meetings so that the public could ask about any issues they had questions or concerns about," Miller said. "This meeting, which Frank has generously agreed to co-host, is the first of what I hope will be many meetings during my term of office so that I can keep the people of my district informed as to what their county government is doing for, and to, them."
The two board members will give an update on county government, some of the hot button issues that have come up over the past few months, and items they would like to pursue over the next few months. Presentation topics could include the medical marijuana zoning amendment passed in May, MidAmerica St. Louis Airport, the East St. Louis high-speed rail proposal, the St. Clair County jail, precinct consolidation and TIF districts.
