Hospice of Southern Illinois has hired Dr. Ellen Middendorf as medical director. Hospice of Southern Illinois is a not-for-profit hospice program that has served 27 counties in southern Illinois since 1981.

Jeff Hebrank, partner with HeplerBroom LLC in Edwardsville, has received the 2014 Distinguished Member Award from Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel. Hebrank is a past president and board member with the council.

Mark Klosterman has announced that he will be resigning as president and chief executive officer of St. Joseph's Hospital in Breese. Klosterman's last day at the metro-east hospital will be July 11. He is leaving to become the new president and chief executive officer of Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk, Neb.

Glen Carbon resident Jeff Harriss has received the 2014 U.S. Government Information Security Leadership Award a top federal security information employee. He was recognized in a ceremony recently held in the Washington, D.C. area.
