The marquee outside Chateau Plaza in Fairview Heights includes a new sign for Hey Guys Comedy, a comedy club that will open next month.
According to information posted by the business, the comedy club is scheduled to open at the shopping center, located at 5225 N. Illinois St. in Fairview Heights.
The site was initially built for sports bar McDoogles Sports Grill and Gamery in 2005. Another sports bar, restaurant and pool hall called Baxter's, later took over that space before moving out three years ago. Most recently, a formal dining restaurant known as Cupids Steakhouse had operated from there before closing last year.
Hey Guys Comedy plans to open its doors on July 11.
Flamingo's in Belleville will open up for lunch next week. Beginning July 8, the restaurant at 923 W. Main St. will open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday. On Friday and Saturday, the restaurant will open at 11 a.m. until 9:30 p.m. The eatery still serves many of the dishes from Maxwell's Restaurant, which operated from the same site for 36 years before closing in 2012.
The restaurant opened in May for weekends and outdoor seating is now available on an adjacent deck.
You can call the restaurant at 618-234-9663.

And finally, Impact Strategies has started construction of Home Goods, a home and fashion retail store, at the Fairview City Centre near the corner of North Illinois Street and Lincoln Trail in Fairview Heights.
